The Breaking
Before there were champions, there was a world — and someone, or something, chose to end it. This is the chronicle of the last day the old world existed, told through the eyes of six survivors who would never be the same.

01
The Last Ordinary Day
No one who survived the Breaking describes it the same way. Some say the sky changed color first — a bruised, wrong kind of amber that had never existed before. Others say the silence came first: a total, impossible stillness that lasted exactly eleven seconds before everything else began. What they all agree on is that there was a moment when the world was still itself, and a moment directly after when it was not.

Six Who Witnessed
This chronicle follows six individuals in the hours leading up to and through the Breaking — not heroes, not chosen ones, just people who happened to survive. An archivist. A soldier. A child. A builder. A prisoner. A wanderer. None of them knew each other. All of them would carry what they saw for the rest of their lives. A few of them would become something more.

What Was Lost
The records of what existed before are incomplete by design — the Breaking did not just damage infrastructure, it damaged memory. The Rememberers have spent two generations trying to reconstruct the shape of the old world from fragments, testimonies, and the occasional surviving structure. What they have found is a world not entirely unlike their own: flawed, brilliant, fractured in its own way. A world that perhaps did not deserve what happened to it. A world that perhaps made it inevitable.
